The 9th GelAvista Meeting takes place on the 10th and 11th of October as an exclusively online event. This initiative seeks to publicize the program that has been monitoring jellyfish along the entire coast of mainland Portugal, the Azores and Madeira, with the help of citizens, since 2016.
This year’s annual GelAvista meeting will bring together scientists who work with gelatinous species but also the project volunteers and all citizens interested in jellyfish.
In addition to the dissemination of data collected over the last year within the scope of this citizen science project and the participation of guest speakers, the meeting will also include a presentation of the state of the situation of FitoAvista and GelAvista’s contribution to the advancement in the study of jellyfish.
As usual, the Medusa d’Ouro awards will be given to distinguish GelAvista observers who stood out from the rest.
The event is open to the public, and it is possible to participate in person or via videoconference, upon registration.
